I am trying to open an Excel file. Message "Data Error
(cyclic redundancy error)" Is there any way to open the
file?

I've had this on floppies before - try a few different
machines, as it may be an issue with your drive. If that
fails its probably a physical error on the floppy disc,
you could try data recovery software/services.
If its on your hard drive then go for some disc utilities
that can identify bad sectors etc
