Default excel crash when using acrobat ver 4

excel 97 crashes when I send it to acrobat ver 4. I send
the active spreadsheet to print and select Acrobat pdf
writer from the printer selection box. the box appears
to confirm the pdf filename and then acrobat stops
working and excel crashes, it just stops working. I'm
running windows xp on a compaq laptop w/512
ram. This same software setup works just fine on my desk
top similiarly equipped. Thank you in advance. I would
appreciate any suggestion.

Default RE: excel crash when using acrobat ver 4

Hi Barry,
Close Excel (And make sure that no EXCEL.EXE services are running in task manager)

Try re-copying the PDFWriter.xla from the Adobe 4 CDROM, and paste it into:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office x\XLStart

If that doesn't help, then try re-installing Adobe. It definatly sounds like Adobe playing up, not excel.

HTH, Paul.
