I had a problem with my Excel 2000 starting (EXCEL.exe has
generated errors...), I read Chip's StartupErrors and found solution #3 corrected my situation. http://www.cpearson.com/excel/StartupErrors.htm 3) Start Excel without customized toolbars and menus. A frequent cause of problems is a bloated or corrupt customization file. Search your hard drive for *.xlb to locate the XLB files used by Excel. Be sure to change your search options to look for hidden files and folders. XLB files are used by Excel to store your customized menus and toolbars. Their names and locations will vary depending on your version of Excel and Windows. When you search for and find these files, move them to another location, such as the Desktop. Now start Excel normally Steve >-----Original Message----- >Leslie, > >See www.cpearson.com/excel/StartupErrors.htm for procedures for >fixing Excel startup errors, including deleting your XLB toolbar >customization file, and running Excel in SafeMode. > >-- >Cordially, >Chip Pearson >Microsoft MVP - Excel >Pearson Software Consulting, LLC >www.cpearson.com chip@cpearson.com > > >"Leslie" <lcrosby@transpro.com> wrote in message >news:034f01c31313$dc1c3b90$3001280a@phx.gbl... >> Running Excel 2000 sp3 under Win98 2nd Ed.
