Default Change Excel's Standard Chart Types

Hi

Whenever I create a chart I tend to make the same amendements to them ...
delete the background, change the gridlines, turn off the autoscale etc.
I am aware of the fact that I could use a macro to do the job or save a
(user-defined) custom chart type. Nevertheless, I guess the easiest way
would be to change the standard types. I know how to adjust the (built-in)
custom chart types but have not fould the location of the standard type
chart settings. Would anyone know if this is even possible?

Thanks for your support.
Franz

Thanks Jon

I was aware of your web page (which I find really great by the way).
However, it never occured to me that I should define a custom chart as my
default. I used custom charts but I always tried to set a unsaved chart as
the default ... which did not work. I feel kind of really stupid right now
and need to go banging my head agains the wall ...

Many thanks again
Franz
