How do I format a category axis so that I can properly display chemical formulas? (like H2O, the 2 needs to be a subscript, but the rest of the letters need to be normal text? I can format the whole thing as sub or superscript, but that's not what I want to do.

Use a text box. Select the chart. Type H20. XL will automatically
create a text box within the chart. Position it as desired. Select the text, pause, then select just the 2. Select Format | Selected Object... and from the Font tab select the Subscript option. -- Regards, Tushar Mehta, MS MVP -- Excel www.tushar-mehta.com Excel, PowerPoint, and VBA add-ins, tutorials Custom MS Office productivity solutions In article <8B5225F8-0A6A-46F4-A1FD-A24454200A9B@microsoft.com>, anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com says... > How do I format a category axis so that I can properly display chemical formulas?
