I found it in C drive but cannot open it. The message says: "Windows need to
know what program created it"... Please advise what I can do. Thank you

What did you find on C drive?

Excel.exe? Windows wouldn't ask which program created it.

An *.xls file and you are trying to open it?

Sounds like you don't have Excel installed on your computer.

Post back with more detail on what you found and what you wish to do with that
"found" item.

If you just want to view and/or print an Excel file(*.xls) you can download a
free Viewer from MS.

Viewer for Excel 97/2000

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...&displaylang=EN

Watch for word-wrap...all one line.

Viewer for Excel 2002 and 2003

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...&DisplayLang=en

Note: the latest version of the viewer is said to replace previous versions
so assume it works on all.

If this is a work WorkStation are you sure it not a remoe install, in
which case have a word withteh IT boys to activate Excel. If a local
install the file must be excel.exe you need to target.
