Note that the URL cited below is wrong. Should be
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/se...in/MS02-050.asp > Because some malicious messages attempt to masquerade as official > Microsoft security notices, it is recommended that you physically > type the URLs into your web browser and not click on the > hyperlinks provided. I'd think that one could copy and paste, too - save a little typing. Better yet, read news articles in a plain-text news reader that generates its own links from the text. In article <#ZoxvTJqDHA.2940@TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl>, "Rita Nikas [MSFT]" <ritan@online.microsoft.com> wrote: > In addition to the new bulletins above, the following Important bulletin was > re-released: > > MS02-050 - Certificate Validation Flaw Could Enable Identity Spoofing > (Q329115) > http://www.microsoft.com/technet/se...ns/MS02-050.asp |

Goodness knows there are so many unsophisticated Windows users with plain text news readers. And OE being unable to render HTML postings as plain text or provide different security settings for previewing postings as opposed to opening them has had absolutely nothing to do with the rapid spread of these viruses. And the Tooth Fairy will be substituting for Santa this Xmas. |
