Take a look under Tools|Addins to see if there's anything that looks like
mobiledb (palm stuff) in there. Make sure it's not checked.

If it's not there, maybe it's still in the registry. Excel tries to open files
that are in there, too.

In excel 2002, the value in the registry is in an Open key under:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Excel\Options
these have to be in order when you're done.
If you're not comfortable editing the registry, get help.

Tks both gentleman for the assistance, I tried the method
of repairing n also could not find any add-ins fr the
Tools. As for the registry there's nothing mentioned of
the Mobiledb.xba n I did a search in the registry but no
results. Any other way I can get rid of this error msg?

I searched google and found a reference to mobiledb.XLA (not .xba). Did you
include the extension?

Maybe you could look at the registry via:

Windows Start Button|Run|Regedit
Then follow that path, but be very careful.

And if all that doesn't work, you could read some notes at Chip Pearson's site:

http://www.cpearson.com/excel/StartupErrors.htm

Maybe that'll help isolate the problem.
