First try the standard fix(es)......Tools>Options>General uncheck "ignore other applications" OR Start>Run "excel.exe /regserver"(no quotes and note the space before the / mark). You may have to enter your full path to excel.exe....in that case surround with quotes as in..... "C:\mypath\to Excel\somewhere\excel.exe" /regserver Gord Dibben Excel MVP - XL97 SR2 & XL2002 On Tue, 8 Jul 2003 02:36:32 -0700, "Kim" <kimtang@mace.me.com> wrote: >I have a problem, every I tried to open a excel file it >tells me that "a file with the same name is already open. >Yo cannot open two documents with the same name even if >they are in different folders, close one or rename the >other". >But that was my first file I am opening, after I clicked >on OK, the file opens. Thanks Gord, the uncheck other applications in the general
tab fixed it for me. Doreen, Gord, is the real star here but thanks for your input.
