I can't turn the encryption off of a bunch of files I
created, using various programs over the last three months. I had to reset my password (per the prompting of the settings in XP) and now I can't access the files I created during the last three months, because most of them were encrypted. How can I remove the encryption without the correct certificates/keys? I have tried cipher, but with no success. Can anyone help? I have a lot of work that will be otherwise lost if I don't get it figured out. Thanks! |

Without the key, the files are, and will remain, unusable. You should have
investigated file encryption more thoroughly before you implemented it. You would have know to export your "key" to a safe (and secure) backup location - or many! -- Regards: Richard Urban aka Crusty (-: Old B@stard :-) "Josh" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:090901c4ad4e$1ddf3c00$a501280a@phx.gbl... >I can't turn the encryption off of a bunch of files I > created, using various programs over the last three > months.
