Iv been using sp2 rc2 for about seven weeks or so and I
installed the final release of sp2 about 10 days ago with no problems at all. The last couple of days however, Iv been unable to download anything from shareware sites. Im not even getting the download warning message at the top of the browser screen as before. Iv not made any changes to IE or my security settings, so Im at a bit of a loss as to what is going on ???. HELP !! please someone. Many Thanks, Jay Cee. |

Hi,
What are your security settings on the security tab for "the internet" ? Please procees as follows: 1. Open Internet Explorer 2. Click Tools -> Internet Options -> Select "Security" tab 3. Under "Select a web content zone to specify its security settings" select the "internet" icon 4. Click "Default level " button under "Security Level for this zone" 5. Next switch to "Privacy" tab and make sure that the Privacy setting is set to "Medium" 6. Under "Pop-up Blocker", uncheck the check box for "Block pop-ups" 7. Click OK to apply the changes. 8. Close all instances of IE and open a new session. Note: When Block All Pop-up Windows is enabled, you can allow pop-up windows to open by pressing ALT at the same time that you click the link. Hope this helps ...... ![]() Ashok (Ashokan Achari) The Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. -------------------- - - From: "jay cee" <jdcsystems@blueyonder.co.uk> - - Subject: Unable to download ? - - Date: Mon, 30 Aug 2004 06:20:41 -0700 - - - - Iv been using sp2 rc2 for about seven weeks or so and I - - installed the final release of sp2 about 10 days ago with - - no problems at all. - - - - The last couple of days however, Iv been unable to - - download anything from shareware sites.
