Default local admin password

Please can anyone help. I have taken a computer out of
our domain. I then went to log on as the local admin but
the realised my predessor hadn't used the same password.
I don't know what the local admin has been set to and i
now can't log on to the compuer at all. Does anyone know
who i can reset the password without actually having to
log on. I don't want to have to reinstall Windows as i
will lose a lot of work?
Thank you

Default Re: local admin password

Your only options are:

1) Reset the password via other sources

http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/editor.html

2) Create a dual boot of Win XP on the machine and "Take Ownership" of the files/folders you need to recover
