I am running XP home with NTFS file system and I can't
figure out how to encrypt files or folders. I right click the folder choose properties then click the advanced button, the "Encrypt contents to secure data" box is greyed out. I can't check it. Do I have to turn something on first? Thanks Mike |

Hi Michael,
you can't use EFS (Encrypted File System) on Windows XP Home edition. It is only supported on Windows XP Professional. EFS is not supported in XP Home. Upgrade to Pro.
