I want to unjoin a win2k pro pc from a win2000 domain and make the pc be a
member of a workgroup ! The problem I have is that when I try to make the changes I get "The followin error occurred attempting to unjoin the domain "sub.domain.co.xx" : The Specified service does not exist as an installed service" I have traweled thru' google microsoft and no joy there ! Can somebody point me in the right direction Thanks in advance -- -------------------- Rgds Martin |

I actually removed the machine from office and now have the machine at home
.. And no way of reconnecting to the office. (We now use samba instead for the domain controller) thanks martin "Rahisuddin Shah" <rahisuddin@tky.nisseicom.co.jp> wrote in message news:Od1SMcgJEHA.3628@TK2MSFTNGP12.phx.gbl... > Hi, > Can you ping the DC? > Are your DNS configured correctly on client? > Do the client TCP/IP property use the DNS of DC? > > > -- > Shah > Lets help others to make better community > ------------------------------------- > "martin" <nospam-news@utopiacom.net> wrote in message > news:u13v4gfJEHA.1220@TK2MSFTNGP11.phx.gbl... > > I want to unjoin a win2k pro pc from a win2000 domain and make the pc be a > > member of a workgroup ! > > > > The problem I have is that when I try to make the changes I get > > > > "The followin error occurred attempting to unjoin the domain > > "sub.domain.co.xx" : The Specified service does not exist as an installed > > service" > > > > I have traweled thru' google microsoft and no joy there ! > > > > Can somebody point me in the right direction > > > > Thanks in advance > > > > -- > > -------------------- > > Rgds > > Martin > > > > > |
