My problem:
I have a Windows 98 laptop and a Windows 2000 desktop connected to a wireless network. I am able to connect both computers to the internet, without any difficulties. I cannot share any files or print from the laptop on the printer that is connected to the desktop computer. I have pinged from the Windows 2000 desktop and it is able to find the Windows 98 laptop, but when I do the reverse (ping from the Windows 98 laptop to the Windows 2000 desktop) it times out. I am at a loss on how to make this work and feel that I have tried everything. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks in advance for the help!! John |

hmmm...seems incredibly simple, but make sure when you
are pinging the 2k machine you are using the right ip addy. see if you have a static ip addy on the 2k machine. as far as file sharing...win2k is very user based/intensive. There may be an issue there. >-----Original Message----- >My problem: > >I have a Windows 98 laptop and a Windows 2000 desktop >connected to a wireless network.
