Does anyone know how to ping a particular port for a global static ip
address. Eg. I have a Dynalink ADSL Router/NAT port mapping with 1 global ip 203.145.145.145 with port 1352 opened for an internal Lan ip. I need to ping it from the internet to see if the port 1352 is responding and work properly, how do I check if port 1352 is opened with ping/other utility. And how do I check all the ports that are opened for ip 203.145.145.145 from the internet???? |

You would need to use a port scanner like Superscan to scan your public address
from another public address. You might also try one of the self scan sites that check for open port vulnerabilities such as http://scan.sygatetech.com/ . -- Steve http://www.foundstone.com/index.htm...tm&subcontent=/ resources/freetools.htm "Joe M" <huytuanattpgdotcomau> wrote in message news:#T435KjrDHA.4092@tk2msftngp13.phx.gbl... > Does anyone know how to ping a particular port for a global static ip > address. Hi Joe,
You cannot ping ports, but you can telnet to specific ports by opening a command window and entering "telnet <destination IP address> <port #>" Thanks, Marc Reynolds Microsoft Technical Support This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
