coolwebsearch hijacker how di I get rid of it

I have 3 different spy remover programs. none of them work. I have tried
everything on the web. nothing works. any ideas

I finally got rid of it. I ran the hijackthis program and removed a ton of
stuff that i didn't recognize. I then ran spysewwper and spybot and they
seemed to have gone away

You forgot to mention one very important item. I have to check all accounts
on my computer and go through the whole spybot, spysweeper and hijack this
thing again. The problem is when I go to one of my son's account's it
infects my account again. So I'm not sure just what to do with this
merry-go-round kind of sad joke..

So here is what I did. I went into each account on my computer and ran a
"hijackthis" against IE to eliminate the nasty "msupdate.exe" from each
copy of MSIE. I was careful not to open IE because that would cause
msupdate.exe to put back all the CWS crapware.

After I did that I ran spybot and spysweeper. These are supposed to be
global sweep programs, but they apparantly do not look at what each IE has
on the different accounts. those guys should fix that.

sorry guys. still no good. every once in awhile the CWS stuff comes back
and clogs up my IE and puts the CWS programs back. It seems that some of
the sites I bookmarked while I had the hijacker used their own site instead.
smart trick. very smart.

You are losing me now? Different accounts do not matter. It is still only 1
machine. Any Anti - Virus, Spyware ect. program scans your computer not
the different users. If you still don't have it cleared up, you may want to
post your hijack log at one of the Forums for expert advice:

How did you know which stuff to get rid of using
hijackthis? I'm not sure which one's are safe to get rid
of.
