I can't seem to get my primary slave hard disk to run in UDMA 5 mode.
I have 2 identical hard disks (60GB Maxtor) on the primary IDE as master & slave. DVD drive om sec. master IDE (UDMA 2) DVD+RW on sec. slave. Intel Application Accelerator says both HD's run in UDMA 5 mode. Nero Infotool says the prim. slave drive is NOT in DMA mode. I'm afraid the infotool might be right. Having both drives defragmentised, and using a benchmark program, I get the following results: C: 25 MB/sec. D: 16 MB/sec. This can't be OK. I need faster D: for video capturing. Windows2000ProSP4 on C: Windows swapfile on D: I had both drives doing 25 MB/sec. This was under Win2kSP3 before reinstalling Windows 2000... Any solutions are very welcome! -- MV os: Windows 2kSP4 - mobo: Asus P4B266 - cpu: Intel P4 1,6 GHz. - mem: 512 MB. - video: Matrox Marvel G450eTV 32 MB.
