Constantly Crashing Computer

I ran the scan, and all was well until it scanned the
registry section. all of a sudden over 3K errors were
listed and the computer displayed the blue screen of death,
something i know every comp user despises. can someone help
me? I have pinpointed that a certain Gator.com key in my
registry has been corrupted. i did this:

went to start, run
type regedit
went to hkey local machine
went to software
went to gator.com
right clicked it to delete it
and BOOM!

blue screen of death appeared. Can someone help? i am
really stumped!
