Default 0 threats or 78 threats? Which is it? Update needed?

I downloaded the Microsoft anti-spy yesterday. I had it
perform the deepest most thorough scan of the system and
it found two threats which it removed.

I then performed another scan with Spyware stormer, a
subscription service, that i had downloaded earlier, and
this found 77 high threats, and one extreme threat.

I wonder if Microsoft is really serious about anti
spyware - maybe they should consider buying an
established product.

Have you read comparitive reviews, by third parties, of the two products?

The product this one is based on has received excellent reviews--better than
most others.

Here's a page with pretty good links, although I haven't checked in depth to
be sure the review I've heard about is there:

http://www.firewallguide.com/spyware.htm

Check out Eric Howes independant reviews here:
http://spywarewarrior.com/asw-test-guide.htm

Anti-Spyware is Giant Anti-Spyware, repackaged.

I think it is because the beta version does not have the
cookie scanning function running yet so you will see a
big diff.

highly suggest you do more research on spyware stormer, it's considered a rogue anti-spyware program, in other words, it is spyware!

you have more problems than you think. get rid of it.
I don't care what your product said it found.
it lies and puts more on than it takes off.
look at all the bad things said on download.com about it.
or read the following page
http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm
this is where it list the following.
Spyware Stormer spywarestormer.com aggressive
advertising (1, 2, 3, 4); drive-by-downloading; (1);
variant of NoSpyX, SpyVest, & Spyware Slayer (1); Ad-
aware knockoff [A: 6-26-04 / U: 7-20-04]
