I love the Mac and still think it's OS logic is better than MS but you're just living a fantasy if you think a Mac offeres better protection. You still run as root in OS X just like in Windows. If Mac made a more interesting target.... we still make up a very small percentage of the connected machines out there... you'd be seeing a lot more malware activity aimed at Mac. As far as the software being "shotty," I've tested it side by side on three Windows machines with Spybot and Adaware. Spybot did manage to pick up an item Anti-Spyware missed but Anti-Spyware found several things both Spybot and Adaware ignored! Not to shabby for a beta! Enjoy our reprive and shut up already. Maybe the new sub $500 Mac might be enough to convert a few more softies! |
