It's very good, that MS finally got it and "included" a
spyware-utility - thanks MS! This beta - it is a beta - is pretty good looking and running just fine. Also, it detects issues very well - and the GUI is simple, but with advanced features for power users/admins. Also the constant protection this utility provides is simply great (wathing changes to system setting, Explorer, host.files etc.) - not to mention the backup-option - is niiiiice! My guess is, that this utility - and its use - will grow fast. I hope that MS will put alot of work into publishing updates, making people safe. About the SpyNet - hmmm, I actually didn't choose to enable this feature, it sounds a bit like a possible backdoor for hacking (but I wouldn't know anything about that - sometimes I'm just a bit over-protective). One thing it didn't figure out on my test-computer was a lot of domains put into my Restricted Zone (value 4 in registry) - these where detected as spyware (please fix this minor bug MS). What I miss a bit, is information about MS's strategy in corporate environments - like if updates can be destributed through SUS/WUS server etc. Many companies have spyware-problems - it's NOT just a problem on private computers! And shame on you MS - use MSI- instead of EXE-files! MSI packages are much more flexible... Using the /? switch there seems to be a few options, but I haven't found any explanation about those yet - one looks like an option to install from an MSI file...? Any help? But once again - thanks MS (hope this will continue to be a free utility?)! Best regards |
