I am running on de Dell 8300 with XP SP2, including all
the latest updates. As Security and Spyware software I am running McAfee Internet Security 2005 Suite, PestPatrol with latest updates and Ad-Aware Professional with latest updates. Everything was running according to xpectations. Then I installed MAS Beta1 and made sure it starts when the systems starts. After the installation it came out that Acrobat 6.0 was not able to create any .PDF files anymore. It told me time and again to reinstall the printer software and switch on a printer which was already on-line. Then I decided to prevent MAS from starting up with a normal system startup as that was the latest change I made to the system. Still the same problem with Acrobat 6.0. To make a long story short I had to deinstall Acrobat 6.0 (all updates first and then 6.0), remove and deinstall all printers, clean the registry, reinstall Acrobat 6.0 again and update it to 6.0.3, install the printersoftware again and now I can create PDF files again. This experience made me decide to still use the scanning option of MAS but not to start it with the system as I do not have time to go over the above procedure again. Hopefully the final product can be adapted to prtevent the above. |

Hans, Did you know that Acrobat Reader is now at version 7? Did you try
upgrading to ver7? Maybe that will help. I've got 3 machines with Acrobat 6 installed. I haven't observed any
issues, but the users have probably not started to use it yet. I'll keep an ear open. In my case, Acrobat 6 was installed (long) after Microsoft Antispyware. -- FAQ for Microsoft Antispyware: http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.htm "Hans van der Stroom" <hansvds@xs4all.nl> wrote in message news:12d401c52adc$c54df740$a601280a@phx.gbl... >I am running on de Dell 8300 with XP SP2, including all > the latest updates.
