Default Anti-spyware and HP Scanner - issues

Is anyone else having problems running a scanner with
the Anit-spyware installed? Windows XP on an HP Pavilion
HPA635W - my HP SCanjet 5300 C ran fine until I installed
Microsoft anti-spyware. When running the scanner program
hangs, sometimes freezes the system.

Scanner drivers are current.

Problem disappears upon removal of anti-spyware program
(successful scan with 15 other applications running)

Yes a friend of me asked to come along, because his
system had a boot time of more than 15 minutes. I
investigate his computer. it was a pentium III 450 mhz
262 mb memory. HP scanner software 5300 series installed
and also
hp officejet 6110 all in one, after de-installation of
the anti-spyware beta1 the system was booting normally
(about 40 seconds).
the anti spyware services are interfering with the HP
services during the bootup process. I know it is a beta
but a more proper behaviour of the beta1 makes it
possible to have the anti-spyware beta1 installed.
So microsoft make a beta2 available otherwise many people
will stop testing your spyware.

I will look into this tomorrow morning. In the meantime, please reply back
with the driver details and versions in use.

I can tell you that i have tried to keep the Beta1 running
on the computer of my friend by using the latest HP
drivers available for the Scanjet and officejet all in
one products earlier mentioned. I did this by using the
HP weboption to check for automatic updates. The latest
drivers of HP didn't solve the problem. It was a pitty to
de-install the beta1 because it has the potential to be a
great anti-spyware weapon because it scans lightning fast.
