Default It simply will not 'work'.

I think my Microsoft Antispyware program is 'broken'
somewhere along the line.

Let me explain.
It scans and does its primary function great. Updates
without a hitch.

But something is screwy. Unsure if others have experienced
this or can offer advice.

The Real-Time protection agents are not operating.
It says they are active when they are simply not.
I go to the sub-screens to 'amange' the agents, there are
no items appearing in the agents list. I click 'activate',
it doesn't do anything. I click 'deactive', it doesn't do
anything.

Its status is simply 'inactive'.

Furthermore, the advanced tools section contains a Systems
Explorer utility.
This will not work period. I click it, and where there
should be options in the left pane is instead a blank pane
of white nothingness.. much like the issue I'm having with
the Real-Time protection agents acting null and void of
operation.

I know this is Beta, but this is a problem I'm encountering.
Hopefully I described it good enough. I can take screenshots.

Thanks for any help in advance. (Yes, I've tried
uninstalling/re-installing first thing - nadda)

Thing is, it was working on my fresh format at first, so I
know something has changed it, but cannot figure out what
happened. I only formatted and reloaded my software in my
computer just under a week now.

Diagnostic Info if its helpful...

(Yes, I'm also running Norton Systemworks Premier 2005 as
well if that is note-worthy. In searching posts on these
newsgroups I seen that question displayed - however, I have
had the real-time Norton AV and counterparts disabled to
constantly run as that is a resource hog, I run manual
regular scans instead)

Thanks for the suggestion , but after installing and
rebooting the remedy didn't seem to make any difference.
The problems persist on this machine.

Do you have Norton System Works or any other security applications on your
machine?

Ahh ... the Symantec *wild card* . Must be I'm trying to forget how
Symantec "software" interacts with MS software

Todd and Steve,

yes, in my reply with microsoft antispyware "diagnostic"
information, I also posted this snippet..

"(Yes, I'm also running Norton Systemworks Premier 2005 as
well if that is note-worthy. In searching posts on these
newsgroups I seen that question displayed - however, I have
had the real-time Norton AV and counterparts disabled to

So that's a postive on the Norton (latest out there.). Must
be a widespread problem with Symantec and Microsft in
general I take it?

I also utilize Zonealarm Pro 5.5 (also latest version out
there.) for my firewalling needs.

I keep my system up to date with ALL drivers, updates,
programs, and so forth from the Windows Update website too.

Also sctively running is Spybot's TeaTimer to prevent hijacks.

I've turned all these programs off, and have even booted
into Safemode to try and see if Antispyware will load
correctly as it once did not very long ago, but no change
is evident even then.

Thanks for listening.

Did you ever have any luck at sorting this problem? I
seem to have exactly the same thing with it just
saying "inactive". I have it installed on 2 machines -
one works fine, and the other does not at all any more???
