I ran the spyware program and it found 27 threats. When
removing them, the program successfully removed 10, then hung. Every subsequent time I try to remove the remaining 17, the program hangs and I have to kill it through task manager. It shows as not responding in the task manager. I'm running XP home. |

Hello Trevor:
Have you try to scan in Safe Mode___ Engel >-----Original Message----- >I ran the spyware program and it found 27 threats. When >removing them, the program successfully removed 10, then >hung. I'll try it now.

There don't seem to be many answers here... just questions! |

I've seen reports of "pauses" (nicer word than hang!) of periods from 30
minutes to well over an hour--not sure what the time was--on specific filenames during some Microsoft Antispyware operations. I'd be interested in hearing the result of leaving the machine running for an extended period of time in this situation. I'm also aware of other situations in which scans or (perhaps) cleaning operations hang, and there's an eventual memory related error message. These seem to me to indicate a bug--but I'm not clear about the first case I mention--a long period of time to perform an operation is surely sub-optimal, of course. -- FAQ for Microsoft Antispyware: http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.htm <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:0ab201c52bfd$b3234300$a501280a@phx.gbl... > >>-----Original Message----- >>I ran the spyware program and it found 27 threats. Can you let it run for a good long time at the "hang" point, if possible?
