Default disabled firewall

I see that I am not the only one having trouble with my
Windows XP firewall mine also became disabled when I
installed Spyware Beta 1.I can't turn it back on. If
someone has a solution I would be very grateful

Default disabled firewall

The issue with the firewall and the Internet connection is
easily resolved:
If you are on Windows XP Service Pack 2, Please type this
at a command prompt:
netsh winsock reset
Hit the enter key, then restart the machine.
For Windows 2000, Pre SP2 versions of XP, or for Windows
Server 2003 pre sp1, follow the procedure in this
