Default RT protection with Foxfire

Hi: Can the RT protection of Anti-Spy filter spyware etc.
from being loaded, while running Foxfire (Mozilla) instead
of IE ( on the XP platform)?

Thanks,
Mike.

The system agent and many of the checkpoints of the Internet agent, and
those checkpoints of the Application agent which aren't IE specific will
still be active.

FWIW, I've heard that Sunbelt will be either adding Firefox specific
extensions to their antispyware product (which is based on technology
similar to what Microsoft Antispyware started as)--or providing a product
tailored specifically for Firefox.

My take on this is that Microsoft Antispyware is still providing a good
level of protection even with an alternative browser. It could be even
better if Microsoft provided checkpoints for those alternative browsers, or
a method where third parties could provide those extensions.

I thought Firefox would never have spyware problem???? Why should anyone
protect it if Mozzila says you don't get spyware with it???

Well, IEs security holes are well known and the
spywareindustri are using them.

Firefox will also be attacked but have better defence
against this.

Popup protection is already broken for both IE and
Firefox....... ;(

Can you show me a citation where "Mozilla says" that Firefox won't get
spyware? I haven't heard any knowledgable person, including developers of
the products involved, state that their software has no bugs, nor that it is
proof against exploitation by virus writers or spyware authors.

Much of the spyware that raises so much angst here is installed by the user
of the machine in question by their own choice, and can be found in add or
remove programs. Firefox also allows you to install code.
