Ever since I installed the Spyware tool I am having
problems with certain webpages. It seems to be on pages with a lot of java or those with alot of links. For example .. www.nascar.com/drivers This page just locks up. |

Greg, I went to this site with no problems experienced. I am using MSAS ver
..509 with latest defs and on MSN 9.0 Dial-up. It must be something else with your computer configuration. Try cleaning out your temp files/temporary internet files and IE history folder. If you are using WinXP SP2 you need to download Sun Java runtime environment because the MS Java was removed in agreement between MS and Sun. You can download from link below. Choose the windows offline download Ed https://sdlcweb2d.sun.com/ECom/ECom...8CC16D3930CE735 "Greg" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:817401c527d6$a1c84b30$a401280a@phx.gbl... > Ever since I installed the Spyware tool I am having > problems with certain webpages. Terrific. You may remember reading about security issues with Microsoft's
Java implementation. Sun's is no different in this regard--there are security risks involved in having it available on your machine. Make sure you've set up autoupdate for it--there is a control panel applet that lets you check on this. Make sure you are on the latest version--1.5.x at the moment, as I recall. In addition, as Sun releases new versions and they are updated on your machine, their update process doe not remove the older one. Since these run about 100 megabytes per version, and since having the older ones present constitutes a security risk (if the update was done because of a security issue)--it is important to remove the older ones. So check out add or remove programs periodically and remove older java implementations. -- FAQ for Microsoft Antispyware: http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.htm <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:7bb901c52802$3a322e60$a601280a@phx.gbl... > Once I loaded the java everything works great.
