I have installed MS Antispyware on lots of machines with
no problems but one IBM thinkpad running XP Home does not play well with it. After installing the program uses a constant 100% of CPU time from system startup until you manually end the process from task manager (accomplishing this is uite a chore in itself for the process respawns quickly if you do not kill the other associated process). Furthermore, I was unable to open the GUI to disable it from startup throught the options menu. After having this problem I was also unable to uninstall the application from the machine. I ended up just disabling it from starting with Windows through MSConfig and never touching it again. |

I found out that the reason was the antivirus program that I had installed on the affected computer. The antivirus program was EZ Armour. I switched to Avast antivirus and the problem was solved.. |
