Default gcasDTServ process uses 100% CPU all of the time

I have installed MS Antispyware on lots of machines with
no problems but one IBM thinkpad running XP Home does not
play well with it. After installing the program uses a
constant 100% of CPU time from system startup until you
manually end the process from task manager (accomplishing
this is uite a chore in itself for the process respawns
quickly if you do not kill the other associated
process). Furthermore, I was unable to open the GUI to
disable it from startup throught the options menu. After
having this problem I was also unable to uninstall the
application from the machine. I ended up just disabling
it from starting with Windows through MSConfig and never
touching it again.

Hi Mike

Give up ??? I think you have a lot of junk to remove.

Download Adaware/Install/Run:

http://www.download.com/3101-2001_4-0-1.html?tag=dir

Downloasd/Install/Run Ccleaner

http://www.ccleaner.com/

Try MSAS again !

>Hi Mike

I had the same problem on one of my computers (have 3).
I found out that the reason was the antivirus program that
I had installed on the affected computer. The antivirus
program was EZ Armour. I switched to Avast antivirus and
the problem was solved..

funny thing :it worked for a few days until installing
lookout (email search tool on db ???)
had the cpu100% problem.
played around for an hour, couldn't uninstall,
ran regcleaner and will also
NOT install it again on this machine.
(runs great on a bunch of machines @ work)
