Hi,
Having downloaded and installed the Antispyware, I cannot run it - as a pop up box tells me that: "This version of Microsoft Antispyware has expired as of 31-Jul-05" The pop up box has an OK button. After pressing that the application disappears. Clearly, it isn't that date yet, and my computer date is set to 10 March 2005. Any ideas? Anonymous |

Go to Regional Settings in Control Panel
Under Regional Options click Customize Click Date tab From both the dropdown menus, select the top option. If you still have the problem, try others. -- Jupiter Jones [MVP] http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/ "anonymous" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:6c0101c52534$acf80670$a401280a@phx.gbl... > Hi, > Having downloaded and installed the Antispyware, I cannot > run it - as a pop up box tells me that: > > "This version of Microsoft Antispyware has expired as of > 31-Jul-05" > > The pop up box has an OK button. This is somehow connected to the regional settings of
Windows XP. According to my tests, Microsoft Antispyware Beta 1 only works with English regional settings. Which means, that if you have another set, it will display this message. If it's not cruicial for you to have differesnt that English-US regional settings, revert back to those, it will make Antispyware work. It helped me. >-----Original Message----- >Go to Regional Settings in Control Panel >Under Regional Options click Customize >Click Date tab >From both the dropdown menus, select the top option. >If you still have the problem, try others. > >-- >Jupiter Jones [MVP] >http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/ > > >"anonymous" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message >news:6c0101c52534$acf80670$a401280a@phx.gbl... >> Hi, >> Having downloaded and installed the Antispyware, I cannot >> run it - as a pop up box tells me that: >> >> "This version of Microsoft Antispyware has expired as of >> 31-Jul-05" >> >> The pop up box has an OK button.
