Hi again.
I find it strange that MS_AS repoarts MsgPlus. First its reported then you say that this application might contain spyware.. As u state this is an option during install of MsgPlus. I find it more usefull if u dont report MsgPlus but the actuall spyware that could have been installed.. I never installed the optional spyware, thus i should not see any warnings about it. An un skilled user will be confused and some might try to uninstall the MsgPlus just to get rid of some spyware that they dont have.. Or.. if they have it they will be forced to remove both MsgPlus and the spyware.. So again: Report the spyware, not the the host. /vonGrepa |

hi vonGrepa,
As there are numerous cases where end-users declined to have the "sponsor bundle" (read - spyware) installed yet found Lop to be on their system WITHOUT being notified during automatic update of MsgPlus, I think its fair for the program to flag Msgplus in any way it sees fit. Also, seeing as many of the worst kinds of installs come bundled with otherwise "clean" programs in and of themselves due to very spurious EULA's, I think reporting the spyware but not the host would set a potentially dangerous precedent. Well, ive installed MsgPlus on 5 systems without getting any spyware. As long as it is an act of free will i feel that MsgPlus should not have been reported. But ofcourse, if possible tell anyone that it was MsgPlus that installed the spyware if the spyware is found.. /vonGrepa |

MsgPlus is reported as an 'adware bundler', which it is and the default
action setting, and written action recommendation, is 'ignore'. -- Hyperlinks are used to ensure advice remains current Visit the Internet Explorer Online Community: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie...ty/default.mspx _______________________________________ Sandi - Microsoft MVP since 1999 (IE/OE) http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/ "vonGrepa" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:05c601c4f41f$80620ed0$a301280a@phx.gbl... > Hi again. > > I find it strange that MS_AS repoarts MsgPlus.
