Update the definitions of your AntiVirus software, restart the system in
safe mode and use CA anti-Virus to run a full scan. Restart in safe mode instructions: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/...t_failsafe.mspx -- Andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta FAQ for MS AntiSpy http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.htm "B-Boy" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:004401c548cf$88439dd0$a501280a@phx.gbl... > Any suggestions... > > My CA anti-virus software can't seem to kill it |

Hi B,
If it's a viral warning, then I can only hope you aren't depending on MWAS to do your virus checking. That's not what the program is intended for. If not, check Panda: http://www.pandasoftware.com/produc...n_principal.htm or Trend: http://www.pandasoftware.com/produc...n_principal.htm Ron Chamberlin MS-MVP http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/default.mspx "B-Boy" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:004401c548cf$88439dd0$a501280a@phx.gbl... > Any suggestions... > > My CA anti-virus software can't seem to kill it > |

I agree with the other advice--scan in safe mode.
fast.exe may well be a part of an XP powertoy. I haven't looked up the reference on the specific virus that you cite though. -- FAQ for Microsoft Antispyware: http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.htm "B-Boy" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:004401c548cf$88439dd0$a501280a@phx.gbl... > Any suggestions... > > My CA anti-virus software can't seem to kill it |
