Default Microsoft AntiSpyware (Beta) problems

When I launch Microsoft AntiSpyware (Beta) it causes my
computer to freeze in the middle of the scan and I have
to restart the computer. Does this happen with anyone
else? Any suggestions?

Hi

Yes for a lot of first time users.

Have you done any scans in safe mode ? Do that,
choose fullscan with all options checked within MSAS.

Also fill your "toolbox" with these tools to make this cleaning
better.

- Download/Install CCleaner, www.ccleaner.com, remove all
temporarily junk

- Download/Install Lavasofts Adaware, also removes tracking
cookies.

All scans then in safe mode, press F8 during reboot.

Also ensure that you don't have a lot of open programs when scanning.

Well, restart in safe mode and scan !
(press F8 during reboot)

Your PC is probably over loaded with spyware.

If thats the case, I would follow Pluns recommendation and also do scan in
safe mode with your AntiVirus software (latest definitions).

OK, I ran it in safe mode and it worked, I deleted 3
spyware infectious files. Should I only run MAS in safe
mode? Or should it work regularly now?

Was it a deep scan in safe mode? On the Scan Page choose Scan Options > Full
System Scan (check the boxes below) and click Run Scan Now.

Hi

MSAS have problem i normal mode, real time protection
is working and recognise threats but for removal
Beta1 is to weak to kill processes and removals
in normal mode for some spyware.

Keep MSAS ! it will be a great app.

You know the trick and real time protection is the major
benefit with this app.
