unable to update definition

when I try to update the definition manually, everything
seems fine even after clicking finish (update complete).
but the definition seems like has never been updated, caz
next time i click check update, it is updating the same
definition agian and again. each time i update manually
"updating 5687 to ......." everytime is definition5687
to something else

Use the information in this KB article to find the actual definition files,
and ascertain accurately which version they are.

If they are the wrong (old) version, I recommend deleting them, and seeing
what happens from there.

Mine only updates if I have Internet Explorer Online when I select File,
Update.
