1. Click "Tools" - "Advanced Tools" - "System Explorers".
2. In the left pane, underneath "Internet Explorer", click "IE BHOs". You will see a list of installed Browser Helper Objects. As noted in the key, BHOs preceded by a star should be safe, those next to an exclamation point are unknown, and those next to a red "X" are those Microsoft AntiSpyware deem hazardous. Click a BHO for more detailed information if available, such as the BHO name, description, and publisher name. Also, in the right pane, you can choose to temporarily or permanently block the BHO. If the BHO is hazardous, you may want to consider permanently removing it. However, for unknown BHOs, you may want to consider only temporarily removing the object and examining the effects later from within Internet Explorer. -- Andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta FAQ for MS AntiSpy http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.htm "David" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:441001c520f8$5398fac0$a601280a@phx.gbl... > Ok ,has anybody got the solution for isearch bar > i have installed ms antispyware > ms spyware dosn't remove it !!! > > can anybody help !!! > > > thanks |

Hi David This isnt a nice one as some of its variations
also affects the hosts file but follow Andre's advise and only use this if you still have problems First open Add/Remove programs screen and remove any of these if found: Searchit - toolbar YuupSearch Toolbar 411Ferret Toolbar autoSearch IE Toolbar masterbarHallmedia.net Toolbar - My toolbar Searchit - toolbar **Note these are the different variants so if found reply which ones are found and i will give the removal for them** Theres a small amount of registry work needed but its only a couple of values, Go to start the run and type regedit Check for this value and delete if found: goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE then click the + next to it,then go to SOFTWARE and again click the + next to it then to MICROSOFT and the + and so on to you get to the Uninstall folder then click the + to open it HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersi on\Uninstall\{A55581DC-2CDB-4089-8878-71A080B22342}. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software Then this entry in that folder: iSearch Open a DOS command prompt window (from Start->Programs- >Accessories) and enter the following commands **Note you can copy and paste this lines into the command prompt** First copy & paste this line: cd "%WinDir%\System" Press Enter Then copy and paste in this line regsvr32 /u toolbar.dll Now restart your pc and find these files in the windows/system 32 folder (called just 'System' on Windows 95/98/Me) and delete them **You can search for these if you have problems finding them but on the search page go to tools on the top bar then folder options and go to the view page, put a check in the 'show hidden files and folders' option and right below it uncheck the 'Hide extensions for known file types'** then back to search and choose all files and folders and to look in My Computer then delete these: toolbar.dll version.txt Thats the isearch bar gone but you also need to check your hosts file as this toolbar can try block you getting access to certain sites (Mainly security and AntiSpy related sites by changing your hosts file) The Hosts file can be found in Windows folder on Windows 95/98/Me, or in System32\drivers\etc in the Windows folder on Winddows NT/2000/XP/2003 Again you can search for it by typing hosts on the search screen and open it with notepad to check the entries All that should be there if you havent added any is examples and then the 127.0.0.1 LocalHosts entry but if this has been changed you will see the security and antispy sites entered with numbers from 127.0.0.2 upwards if they are there delete them all and just leave the 127.0.0.1 LocalHosts in place and the examples above it. Another easier way if you are not sure about hosts files is to download this to restore the Microsofts default host file: Download the Hoster from here: http://members.aol.com/toadbee/hoster.zip Press 'Restore Original Hosts' and press 'OK' Exit Program. Also empty your temp folders Delete Temp Internet files : Open a internet browser window, click Tools then Internet Options. Click on the Delete Cookies and the Delete Files buttons, then click OK and close the browser window. Next: Delete Windows Temporary Files - (start, run then type %temp% delete all files you can in this folder The Windows temporary directory (usually located at C:\windows\temp). Repost if you have any problems and i will help where i can Good luck Andy |

Remember, it's still only a Beta.
I've seen it do some good work, and I've seen it nab inbound crapware barehanded. really poor. -- Andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta FAQ for MS AntiSpy http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.htm "Ron Chamberlin" <ronchamberlin@msnmsn.com> wrote in message news:qwurszSIFHA.1676@cpmsftngsa06.privatenews.microsoft.com... > Remember, it's still only a Beta. > > I've seen it do some good work, and I've seen it nab inbound crapware > barehanded. > > Ron Chamberlin > MS-MVP > > > "Andre Da Costa" <andred25@hotmail.com> wrote in message > news:eCyjJ2QIFHA.1852@cpmsftngsa05.privatenews.microsoft.com... >> Gosh, MSAS is basically useless then! >> >> -- >> >> Andre >> http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta >> FAQ for MS AntiSpy http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.htm >> >> "AndyManchesta" <andyorange334@hotmail.com> wrote in message >> news:487f01c520ff$f4ed7840$a401280a@phx.gbl... >>> Hi David This isnt a nice one as some of its variations >>> also affects the hosts file but follow Andre's advise and >>> only use this if you still have problems >>> >>> First open Add/Remove programs screen and remove any of >>> these if found: >>> >>> Searchit - toolbar >>> YuupSearch Toolbar >>> 411Ferret Toolbar >>> autoSearch >>> IE Toolbar >>> masterbarHallmedia.net >>> Toolbar - My toolbar >>> Searchit - toolbar >>> >>> **Note these are the different variants so if found reply >>> which ones are found and i will give the removal for >>> them** >>> >>> Theres a small amount of registry work needed but its >>> only a couple of values, >>> >>> Go to start the run and type >>> >>> regedit >>> >>> Check for this value and delete if found: >>> >>> goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE then click the + next to it,then >>> go to SOFTWARE and again click the + next to it then to >>> MICROSOFT and the + and so on to you get to the Uninstall >>> folder then click the + to open it >>> >>> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersi >>> on\Uninstall\{A55581DC-2CDB-4089-8878-71A080B22342}. >>> >>> >>> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software Then this entry in that >>> folder: >>> >>> iSearch >>> >>> >>> Open a DOS command prompt window (from Start->Programs- >>>>Accessories) and enter the following commands >>> >>> **Note you can copy and paste this lines into the command >>> prompt** >>> >>> First copy & paste this line: >>> >>> cd "%WinDir%\System" >>> >>> Press Enter >>> Then copy and paste in this line >>> >>> regsvr32 /u toolbar.dll >>> >>> >>> Now restart your pc and find these files in the >>> windows/system 32 folder (called just 'System' on Windows >>> 95/98/Me) and delete them >>> >>> **You can search for these if you have problems finding >>> them but on the search page go to tools on the top bar >>> then folder options and go to the view page, put a check >>> in the 'show hidden files and folders' option and right >>> below it uncheck the 'Hide extensions for known file >>> types'** >>> >>> then back to search and choose all files and folders and >>> to look in My Computer then delete these: >>> >>> toolbar.dll >>> version.txt >>> >>> >>> >>> Thats the isearch bar gone but you also need to check >>> your hosts file as this toolbar can try block you getting >>> access to certain sites (Mainly security and AntiSpy >>> related sites by changing your hosts file) >>> >>> The Hosts file can be found in Windows folder on Windows >>> 95/98/Me, or in System32\drivers\etc in the Windows >>> folder on Winddows NT/2000/XP/2003 >>> >>> Again you can search for it by typing hosts on the search >>> screen and open it with notepad to check the entries >>> >>> All that should be there if you havent added any is >>> examples and then the 127.0.0.1 LocalHosts entry but if >>> this has been changed you will see the security and >>> antispy sites entered with numbers from 127.0.0.2 upwards >>> if they are there delete them all and just leave the >>> 127.0.0.1 LocalHosts in place and the examples above it. >>> >>> Another easier way if you are not sure about hosts files >>> is to download this to restore the Microsofts default >>> host file: >>> >>> Download the Hoster from here: >>> >>> http://members.aol.com/toadbee/hoster.zip >>> >>> Press 'Restore Original Hosts' and press 'OK' >>> Exit Program. >>> >>> Also empty your temp folders >>> >>> Delete Temp Internet files : >>> >>> Open a internet browser window, click Tools then Internet >>> Options. >>> Click on the Delete Cookies and the Delete Files buttons, >>> then click OK and close the browser window. >>> >>> >>> Next: Delete Windows Temporary Files - (start, run then >>> type %temp% delete all files you can in this folder >>> The Windows temporary directory (usually located at >>> C:\windows\temp). >>> >>> >>> Repost if you have any problems and i will help where i >>> can >>> >>> Good luck >>> >>> >>> Andy >> >> >> > > > |
