the program freezes after detecting a possible hijack
and proceding to remove. ther box "RUNNING SPECIAL POST
CLEANING" never closes and my checking shows that the
program has stopped.

what can be done?

You may have to ctrl-alt-delete and end task. Once you regain control of
the machine, I'd suggest restarting in safe mode. Restart, and press the F8
function key before the first windows screen comes up.

Log in as "administrator".

Do a full, deep scan in safe mode and lets see if that lets the cleaning
complete properly.

What was the name of the threat that caused this issue?
