So far I like the MS Anti-Spyware tool. However, it does
not seem to be effective against the Elite.elitum toolbar bug. MSAS finds it fine, and deletes the files, but apparently this little cretin lives somewhere in memory that MSAS doesn't find and it regenerates itself on the next startup. I tracked down another tool that killed the thing, but it was pretty frustrating to see MSAS claim it had deleted it, only to see its effects recur. Hope this gets fixed in a future rev... |

Boot into Safe Mode (F8) at Start Up; Empty your temporary files AND your
Temporary Internet Files C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files folder ; Run the scan while in safe mode; If you are running SP2, open IE--->Tools--->Manage Add-ons, and uncheck any BHO's that you don't recognize. -- Andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta FAQ for MS AntiSpy http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.htm "DG" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:3bf501c51f9c$eb520f30$a401280a@phx.gbl... > So far I like the MS Anti-Spyware tool.
