Enable show hidden files (Tools > Folder Options > View Tab), restart your
computer in safe mode. Press F8 while your PC Starts up until you see the prompt appears, use the up and down arrow keys to select safe mode. Navigate to C:\documents and settings > username (yours) > Local settings > temp folder (empty it). Open AntiSpyware, choose Advanced tools > Browser Hijack > choose restore browser settings. Run a full system scan, on the scan page choose Scan Options > Full System Scan. Also, before you enter safe mode, remember to turn off System Restore from the properties of my computer, system restore tab. -- Andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta FAQ for MS AntiSpy http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.htm "nicola" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:063b01c51f72$bb0aff00$3a01280a@phx.gbl... >I have spyware on my computer and Ive tried > mirrosoft/mcafee/spyblaster/cdshredder/spybot/ad-aware > still cant get rid of the thing, its got my homepage set > at http://v73.us |

Symantec has a description of one bug which does what you are seeing here:
http://securityresponse.symantec.co...e.cwsconyc.html However, their manual removal instructions are quite long and complex--not something I'd recommend for the average person. Since Symantec detects this as an adware threat, there's a good chance other antivirus vendors moving into this area may also detect it. One other vendor which does such detection is Trend Micro. Trend Micro has an online scanner which you can run on your machine, and which removes what it finds. I recommend that you try that out: http://housecall.trendmicro.com You'll need to click to allow an activex control to be installed, and the process will take a good bit of time, but I think it may do what you need done. -- FAQ for Microsoft Antispyware: http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.htm "nicola" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:063b01c51f72$bb0aff00$3a01280a@phx.gbl... >I have spyware on my computer and Ive tried > mirrosoft/mcafee/spyblaster/cdshredder/spybot/ad-aware > still cant get rid of the thing, its got my homepage set > at http://v73.us |
