error 101

i keep getting a message whenever i start antispyware
that tells me that there is a critical error (Error
101). i don't know what this means but i want this
program to work again so please get back in contact with
me.

1) Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, select 'Microsoft Antispyware'.
Update the software via 'change', 'next', 'update', 'next', 'install'. 2)
Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. Ensure DCOM Service is
running.

A number of persons have been getting the Critical Error 101 with
AntiSpyware Beta 1, well heres a possible fix:

a.. Open up control panel and double-click on add/remove programs.
Select Microsoft AntiSpyware
Select "Change"
On the Microsoft AntiSpyware Maintenance Wizard, click next.
On the next screen (Microsoft AntiSpyware Maintenance Wizard) select
Update
Microsoft AntiSpyware and click next.
Select Install
Let the product update.
Click Finish.

good advice worked for me. However i can not find the
DCOM service? is the DCOM service necessary, could it be
called somthing else? please reply.
