To determine how well the beta compared to my current
installation of Ad Aware 6 personal, I ran Ad aware to locate any issues (i.e. tracking cookies etc..). Once Ad aware prodived the intrusion screen, I minimized the software (I took no action to clean or quanenteen). Next I ran the Beta so I could compair the results. Ad Aware found 58 tracking cookies and the Beta found None. This was after I allowed the beta to update the signature files. I have uninstalled the beta. If someone can explaine why this was with a good explaniation, then please let me know and I will consider trying again. Ken |

Microsoft is approaching the spyware issue from an entirely
different perspective. Most spyware software detects threats because they have already compromised the code. However, if you notice BETA1 prevents any threats from executing, or inserting itself into the code, thus any changed the threats attempt to make are quickly thwarted by BETA1. Ideally, the only way to fully test the BETA1 is to start from an entirely new install with BETA1 installed immediatetly after the O/S install, that way you know that the system is free from any threats prior to evaluating the BETA1. >-----Original Message----- >To determine how well the beta compared to my current >installation of Ad Aware 6 personal, I ran Ad aware to >locate any issues (i.e. tracking cookies etc..). Hi Ken,
We can make this one a quickie: In the Beta1 version, the program doesn't go into the cookie jar.
