This is getting all too common and is becoming a worry.
Why have I not yet been graced with this issue? Mark >-----Original Message----- >After downloading and running the software my fire wall >in not enabled and I cannot turn it back on!! What >happened? Please help. >. > |

If you are running Windows XP, Service Pack 2:
Go to a command prompt and type in: netsh winsock reset and hit enter restart the machine. You will need to reinstall any programs which have added themselves to the winsock stack. If you are on an earlier version of XP, use this KB article to accomplish the same goal: http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;817571 "Reddy Auto" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:0c0801c4f8bd$462e8de0$a601280a@phx.gbl... > After downloading and running the software my fire wall > in not enabled and I cannot turn it back on!! There's a pretty good chance that you don't have that issue.
If you find something that used to work, and doesn't anymore, and it uses the network, that's what you'd need to reinstall, either from the pile of CD's that you have somewhere in a drawer or on top of the bookcase, or by downloading from the vendors site. I wouldn't worry about it until you find something that doesn't work. -- FAQ for Microsoft Antispyware: http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.htm "LANEY" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:0d1101c50f68$20a5a830$a401280a@phx.gbl... > THANKYOU BILL SANDERSON I'M NOW RUNNING AT FULL STRENGTH > ONLY HAD COMP, 10 MONTHS I'M A NOVICE ANYMORE TIPS.
