Default Download freezes

Hi

I need some guidance from someone that has experienced
the same problem as I am. My kids have the computer so
corrupted with spyware that I can barely get to the
Microsoft website and to the download before my computer
freezes.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks
A

Hi,
I suggest reformatting your hard drive. My brother did the
same thing to my parents computer and we just reformatted
it for them. All you need to do is make sure you get your
internet, media, sound drivers burned to disc before you
start.. You should have all the software needed to
reformat your hard drive (they should have given you the
back up CD when you bought the computer).

Once reformatted, buy anti-virus software immediately and
download antispyware software onto it as well. Then tell
your kids where they can and can't go online (stay away
from free anything sites!). You can always get a blocker
put on sites through AOL or a number of other companies.

Good luck!

Default Re: Download freezes

Download on another system which has a CD-writer, and then attempt to
install from the CD. Do the install in Safe mode.

You should probably download a competent antivirus, such as Grisoft's AVG 7
free version and use it before using the antispyware tool.

If you don't have sufficient Internet connectivity to get the download done,
you need to either move things from another system, or do some other form of
cleaning by hand.

Have you at least looked at add/remove programs and removed things you don't
know are currently in use and valuable to the users of the machine?
