Default IE and Outlook Express do not work after scaning

After successfully running Giant AntiSpyware 1.0.299 and
removing all listed spyware, IE and Outlook Express do not
work anymore showing connot find server. But FireFox and
Thundbird work fine. I tried uninstall Giant AntiSpyware
and reinstall IE 6.01 from Microsoft web site. It does't
help. I am using win2000 pro.

Are you in an environment which includes a proxy or firewall? Was there a
firewall client or proxy client installed on your machine?

There was installed the ZoneAlarm Pro. Currently it hss
been uninstalled and cleaned up. There is no more proxy or
firewall installed in this PC. After Giant AntiSpyware Beta
installed, IE and Outlook Express are working OK. But after
scanning and removing spyware, IE and OE cannot connect to
the server. I would like to try any suggested methods to
get IE and OE back.

I'm trying to think about what would be common to IE and OE, but not to
Thunderbird or Firefox.

Have you checked out both the quarantine areas of the product and the
cleaner.log file in the folder the program is installed in--one or both of
these may show you what was removed that is causing the current problem.

Both cleaner.log and quarantine areas are pretty big. What
I am thinking is how to clean the PC by removing GAS and
IE/OE than reinstall them. Is there is a way to completely
remove GAS then restore IE/OE, then install GAS again?

Microsoft Antispyware is removable via Control Panel add/remove programs.

Repairing IE/OE is a more complex thing which differs according to OS
version and IE version, and I don't know the details well, I'm afraid.
