Nothing after download

I have the icon on my desktop but when I double click
it..nothing happens except a box that asks me to run the
program. I click run and a small box appears with OK and
I click that and nothing happens. The program doesn't
open.
Any suggestions?

Hey, at least you got an icon. I can't find any way to
launch this supposedly installed software at all.

Can you say clearly what software you believe you installed, and from what
source?

Microsoft Antispyware is downloaded from pages under www.microsoft.com

It is not available from WindowsUpdate or AutoUpdate.

It has an icon.

If you go to control panel, add or remove programs, is Microsoft Antispyware
listed? If it is, please choose Change, and then Update.

Write back to say if that is not the case, or if that update process doesn't
fix your issue. One question I have is about this dialog box that you
get--is is crystal clear what application it is associated with--what does
it say in the top of the window?
