Hi: If anyone can help here, it would be appreciated.
Virtually each time I boot my PC, and later run Antispyware before shutting down, it detects (& and apparently removes) "Browseraid" - see summary removal message below. The problem is, it returns. I've run AntiSpyware in Safemode several times in a row and yet it still returns on new reboots. The only websites I've visted (for this test purpose) is MS. I've also loaded and used MS Outlook Express to do regular email activities. So I'm baffled? Could it be entering my PC via a loaded Outlook Express? I never download email attachments without running the most up to date McAFee Virus Scan (it picks things up automatically as I have it set to the fullest detection levels). As McAfee makes no useful reference to removal of it, I've just looked at the Symantec site regarding removal of Browseraid and its references within the Registry do not seem to appear in my Registry. Any assistance would be appreciated. Hi,
First, did you look in Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel? Some of the BHO's are quite sophisticated. Have you tried opening IE--->Tools--->Manage Add-ons and disabling suspicious BHO's? Additional info on battling it are found here: http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/BrowserAid.html Ron Chamberlin MS-MVP <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:092d01c52f39$d134ffc0$a601280a@phx.gbl...
