This beta product is not designed for such deployment, and clearly states
that it shouldn't be used in a production environment. It is possible to extract a .MSI package from the downloaded executable, and there are posts in the .install group from others interested in or working on this kind of issue, but I really don't recommend putting too much effort into this at this time. Use the -a switch on the downloaded executable to extract the files and see the .msi. I haven't carried the effort any further than that. FYI I tried to deploy via Group Policy, but the MSI the -a
switch created makes the install path default to d:\program files.... Fine if you've got a writable HDD D: drive I suppose! >-----Original Message----- >This beta product is not designed for such deployment, and clearly states >that it shouldn't be used in a production environment. > >It is possible to extract a .MSI package from the downloaded executable, and >there are posts in the .install group from others interested in or working >on this kind of issue, but I really don't recommend putting too much effort >into this at this time. > >Use the -a switch on the downloaded executable to extract the files and see >the .msi. > >I haven't carried the effort any further than that. > >"luga Garcia" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message >news:05a801c4ff12$a4e323e0$a301280a@phx.gbl... >> How can i deploy the SpyWare beta to the users using >> windows 2003 server as domain controller > > >. > |

That's interesting. It happens that is the install path on my machine,
fwiw. It wasn't what I see as I install though--the default presented is as usual the boot partition, which in my system is E. -- FAQ for MS AntiSpy http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.txt "Sean Dewis" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:235b01c5039f$eddb1ad0$a501280a@phx.gbl... > FYI I tried to deploy via Group Policy, but the MSI the -a > switch created makes the install path default to d:\program > files.... > > Fine if you've got a writable HDD D: drive I suppose! > >>-----Original Message----- >>This beta product is not designed for such deployment, and > clearly states >>that it shouldn't be used in a production environment. >> >>It is possible to extract a .MSI package from the > downloaded executable, and >>there are posts in the .install group from others > interested in or working >>on this kind of issue, but I really don't recommend > putting too much effort >>into this at this time. >> >>Use the -a switch on the downloaded executable to extract > the files and see >>the .msi. >> >>I haven't carried the effort any further than that. >> >>"luga Garcia" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote > in message >>news:05a801c4ff12$a4e323e0$a301280a@phx.gbl... >>> How can i deploy the SpyWare beta to the users using >>> windows 2003 server as domain controller >> >> >>. >> |
