Default Antispyware has messed up internet bigtime!!!

I downloaded microsoft antispyware (beta), when scan was
finished internet explorer changed to 'page cannot be
displayed'. I am not very experienced with computers so I
contacted my ISP wanadoo, they installed a new
connection, but I was still not able to view any pages.
I phoned Microsoft and was connected to a technician who
talked me through the Winsock procedure, this seemed to
fix the problem, but when i turned off my computer and
then the next day went back again the problem has
happened again and has been like that since, approx 1
week. I have tried to phone microsoft again but can't
get through before 6 pm,just keep getting cut off. If
any one could suggest anything I would be very grateful.

Yes you can download it. Do it from another PC and put it on a floppy or
whatever you have to transfer files, and run it on the problem PC.

Hi Joe,
Use the method below which fits your OS version. If you are on XP SP2, use
the second method:

1) (winsock reset for 2k, xp pre sp2, and 2003 pre sp1)

http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;817571

2) (Winsock reset for xpsp2)

netsh winsock reset

enter
restart machine.

After resetting Winsock, applications which have added themselves to the
stack will need to be reinstalled. These may include third-party VPN
clients, some McAfee privacy or network security related software, and
others--check what is working and what is not.
