Hadn't tried either yet.
Some people wrote that winsock reset alone does not help.

This is what it's all about people... testing and helping
each other!

i dont quite understand, the person reporting this issue, knew how to get to this point to actually ask a question, yet they know not that win xp's firewall does nearly NOTHING and that 3rd party programs (say ZA) are infinitely better. Not a hit, it just baffles me....

This fix works most of the time. I have had the same
problem with other spyware removal tools. I hope MS can
intergrate the winsock tool into there new spyware
removal program or have there program be able to remove
spyware without corrupting the winsock.

Ditto

If this can't be integrated--and it may be a problem on other OS's than XP
SP2--there should at least be clear, printable guideance to the user about
what they are going to need to do after the reboot.

I feel sure this is being looked at hard.

my cable connection to keep dropping,(now it is not
dropping) but after removing I couldn't access my firewall
to turn it back on. Ran this program and now it works
again. Thanks so much!
