Is this planned at all?
Controlling AntiSpyware in Group Policy is a must for corporate organisations. |

The current beta of Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware is
designed for home users and does not include management support such as GPO that is common in enterprise environments. Management support will be considered in the future and there are currently no published plans or time tables for this. Thanks Anthony Blumfield [MSFT] This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights >-----Original Message----- >Is this planned at all? > >Controlling AntiSpyware in Group Policy is a must for >corporate organisations. >. > |

I would like to double this request for a GPO driven
solution as well as being able to control the updates centrally to contain network usage... similar to corporate antivirus or SUS. I would really like to see this integrated into WUS for update and a new ADM file create for its control. On the same breath, I this is the right direction and a good start. It is a much needed solution and should be a good fit in our environment of 7 thousand mobile computers. >-----Original Message----- >The current beta of Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware is >designed for home users and does not include management >support such as GPO that is common in enterprise >environments. >Management support will be considered in the future and >there are currently no published plans or time tables for >this. > >Thanks >Anthony Blumfield [MSFT] >This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and >confers no rights > >>-----Original Message----- >>Is this planned at all? >> >>Controlling AntiSpyware in Group Policy is a must for >>corporate organisations. >>. >> >. > |

It would be wise for MS to expedite this. We are actively
looking for an anti spyware solution for our environment. We would pay for it too, we also would prefer it to be from MS and manageable from AD/GPO. Unfortunately timing is critical. McAfee has an Anti-Spyware module due out within the next couple of months that is configurable and controllable through its 3.0.2 ePO server and works with 7.1 and 8.0i scanners. Plus, we are entitled to this with our current licensing contracts at no additional cost. Chances are, this is the way we will go unless there is any competition for us to review. >> >>Controlling AntiSpyware in Group Policy is a must for >>corporate organisations. >>. >> >. > |

Ditto.
A deployment route for AD via GPO would be ideal and would be very much the boost required against all these nasties floating around. Many admins are now discovering this tool and every one i know have asked the same thing: where is the AD implementation and will it have any. I sincerely believe that this is a route MS should consider and therefore give it my backing. Regards >-----Original Message----- >It would be wise for MS to expedite this. U guys my backing I'm surprised MS didn't just start on a

There is a huge market out there for anti spyware. We
have more problems with spyware than virus. We've tried a couple of soloutions, pestpatrol by CA and Spy Sweeper by Webroot. Looks like we will be going the spysweeper route. Nice product with deployment via GPO, good console and reporting. So far the only real enterprise tool is from Sunbelt
Software (http://www.sunbelt-software.com). And btw .. they share the signatures database with Microsoft (see http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1759,1743742,00.asp)! Not that many false positives as microsoft though. so we're going sunbelt route ![]() >-----Original Message----- >There is a huge market out there for anti spyware.
